We compared Effenus Henderson's author brand and book presence, line by line, with the best-known practical book on inclusive leadership. Both authors run DEI consultancies and teach through a named framework. On the surfaces that sell a leadership book, the gap is wide.
Brooks Craft scores ten areas that decide whether an HR leader or executive finds, trusts and buys a leadership book. Each is rated from what is live today on Google, Amazon and the web.
Scores are Brooks Craft Publishing's assessment. Every figure on this page comes from live pages captured on November 7, 2026.
Each pair was captured the same day, at the same size. Effenus is on the left, Jennifer Brown on the right.
Effenus has a Knowledge Panel labelled "Author" — a real asset. But its overview still reads "Chief Diversity Officer for Weyerhaeuser Company", a role he left in 2013, and it shows no books. Google's answer for Jennifer Brown leads with her book, her framework and her photo.

Searching SPINE's full title returns plain links: his blog, Amazon Canada and a press release. There is no AI Overview, book panel or video. Brown's title returns a detailed AI Overview of the book's framework and three video results.

henderworks.com is a modern, data-driven consulting site with strong proof (40+ years, 60+ nations, ISO 30415). But it sells the firm, not the author: no photo of Effenus, no book in the main menu and no "book a speaker" button. Brown's site puts her photo and "Book Jennifer to Speak" front and centre.

An Amazon search for Effenus shows four books but no ratings on any of the three DEI titles. Brown's search shows her book in two editions with 107 and 631 ratings, in every format.

HR leaders and executives buy leadership books on Amazon. This is where the gap costs Effenus the most.
Brown's listing opens with a one-line promise and a "What's inside" list, plus ratings, an Audible sample and four formats. SPINE opens with "Welcome to SPINE…" and has no ratings, no ebook and a reading age of 15–18 years.

Brown's A+ section uses two full-width designed banners — her photo with a signed quote, and the book with a key idea — plus an author photo signing copies. Below SPINE's author bio there is no A+ Content, no customer review and an empty "Upload your video" box.

Brown ranks in the top 100 of Knowledge Capital and the top 133 of Consulting, three years after publication. SPINE has two categories, and one of them, Social Sciences, is too broad to rank in.

Effenus has more institutional credibility than almost anyone in DEI. Brown's advantage is that her marketing sells the book and her speaking: endorsements on Amazon, a speaker-first website and a podcast.

Ordered by speed of impact: fix what Amazon shows today, then move Effenus's credibility onto the surfaces where leadership books are bought.
Brooks Craft Publishing will build the visibility the SPINE trilogy needs to stand beside the biggest names in inclusive leadership.
